Thursday June 30th, 2016
June was a month of intense advocacy meetings and organizing Student Housing with people in the community of Copacabana – Tarija, the project will begin after winter vacation. Earlier, in May, after difficult negotiations because of fiscal crisis faced by the municipalities of Bolivia, the interagency cooperation agreement with Yunchará was signed to implement Student Housing in the community. This project has generated great expectations and will receive 30 children in July from scattered locations of the high Andean plain Tajzara located 4,000 meters above sea level. Some of the girls had to walk more than 2 hours each day just to get school. Hosts prepare their homes and rooms in which they will receive their new scholar. Hosts and parents got together and organized which scholar is going to what home.
